| Strength: Ranthony Texada is an experienced cornerback. Ranthony Texada shows excellent change of direction in man coverage. Ranthony Texada shows a willingness to stop the run. Ranthony Texada is generally fast enough to keep up with any challenger on deep pass plays. | |||
| Weakness: Ranthony Texada is a bit small for a cornerback. Ranthony Texada doesn't create turnovers. Ranthony Texada is not a powerful tackler. | |||
| Development: Ranthony Texada is a rookie free agent who should be able to step on the field and not embarrass himself right from the start. He has lined up against a variety of receivers over his college career and held his own, despite being smaller than ideal. He also lacks the elite athleticism you typically see in a small NFL cornerback. Ranthony Texada faces an uphill battle against a deep depth chart, with the best thing going for him being that he's the kind of guy you can stash on the practice squad and if you have a couple of injuries you know you can stick him in there and he'll get the job done as the next guy up. If he gets a chance, there is no reason to believe he can't be a successful NFL player, however, he doesn't have any elite trait that would get him second chances if he doesn't stick right away. | |||
