Devin Mahina

Washington Redskins

Tight End

Rookie Free Agent

BYU

Strength: Devin Mahina has an large, athletic frame for a receiving tight end. Devin Mahina has a reputation as a high character player. Devin Mahina has good speed. Devin Mahina is deceptively strong.
Weakness: Devin Mahina rarely caught passes in college. Devin Mahina is middle-aged by NFL standards.
Development: The good news for Devin Mahina is that there isn't much comeptition at the back end of the tight end depth chart. The bad news is that he's not an accomplished college player and he's trying to prove he can be an accomplished NFL player at an age when most players have already washed out of the league. He does have some intriguing skills, so whether he gets a practice squad spot or not is mostly dependent on how quickly the team thinks they can turn him into a reliable NFL player. He'll have to show well on special teams and look polished as a blocker and receiver right from the start.
Fantasy Football Rating: Not likely to have an impact.
Typecast Outlook Opinion: Older project player with limited college production.
