Brian Bell

Washington Redskins

TE

Rookie Free Agent

Kent State

Strength: Brian Bell has good hands and above average speed for a tight end.
Weakness: Brian Bell is not nearly big enough to be an NFL tight end, being about the average size of an NFL wide receiver. Brian Bell wasn't very productive as a receiver in college.
Development: Other than being a local boy, it is hard to figure out why the Redskins signed Brian Bell. Kent State's football programs list him around 215, though he looked considerably bigger than that during workouts. He must have really shown them something in the rookie camps, because Brian Bell certainly didn't show much during his college career and he certainly doesn't have any of the 'measurables' that often lure teams into taking unproductive college players. The best I can figure is that Brian Bell showed off his good hands and made some big plays on the practice field. The coaches must have felt he can contribute on special teams and has skills that may develop into an NFL player. I just haven't seen that side of him.
Fantasy Football Rating: No impact.
Typecast Outlook Opinion: Project.
